Keith Kauffmann

Senior Technology Leader

A proven leader in product development with 30 years of experience in automotive, solar and water filtration industries.  Extensive experience in bringing products from concept to production with expertise in prototyping, design, injection molding tooling, testing and reliability. Recognized for developing relationships with key personnel to develop strong cross functional teams for successful product development and commercialization.  Automotive experience in glass bonding adhesives and thermoplastics for structural applications.  Part of a R&D team that developed a solar shingle for residential housing that was named one of the 50 Best Innovations of 2009 from TIME magazine.  Black belt certified (MAIC) with BS degrees in mechanical engineering and engineering administration from Michigan Technological University and a MS degree in material science and engineering from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.

Elizabeth Zink

Data Analysis Leader

Lizzy is our Data Analysis Leader. Her proficiency in statistical and programming skills alongside her strong work ethic and communication skills make her an irreplaceable asset to the team. She views  problems through the lens of: what can I do with the data to answer the questions we have. She believes having a data oriented perspective allows us to make sure the data we collect is actually valuable. Her inquisitive personality helps us ask questions that others may not have thought of which can in turn help us create better solutions.

Lizzy’s background is in statistical analysis, including regression techniques, experimental design, statistical testing, and Bayesian analysis. She has a B.S. in Statistics from Michigan State University, working towards a PhD in statistics at The Ohio State University.

Scott Burr

CEO & Founder

Scott is an experienced technical development leader with over 25 years of experience in new application and new technology exploration, development, and commercialization. While working on his Ph.D. at Virginia Tech he knew he wanted to figure out how to convert great science and understanding into commercial products that were successful. Scott has strong people leadership skills with the ability to lead diverse teams through complex development projects.  He has extensive experience in front end concept development utilizing diverse brainstorming, idea generation, and affinitization tools. Additionally, he has a strong skill sets in intellectual property strategy evaluation, development, and maintenance. Scott will use his experience in leading technical teams within start-up organizations and integrating those organizations into large corporate structures to help lift your ideas off the ground.
